Summing up our first quarter this year I am proud of what has been achieved by the International Trade team at the Essex Chambers of Commerce. I have so far kept my new year's resolution and been visiting more of you and will continue to do so. The result is lots of good news to shout about; see our Exporters News. I have been really pleased with how open and keen our members have been to speak to me about their businesses and how they are faring in such a "unique" time in history. It is unique in that all of the stories are different but linked by the same common denominator - our undecided future. That future will be one of continuing International Trade and opportunities - even if there are a few bumps along the way.
This leads me onto talking about what we are doing to support and guide our businesses, as well as make sure their messages are heard by government. In Chamber News you can read about our recent International Trade Forum at Westminster and our Eurasion Economic Union event with SCHNEIDER GROUP among other articles.
In Exporters News we are delighted to bring to you articles about our members IX Cameras and Ultimotive with their success in attaining awards and Simarco Worldwide Logistics being shortlisted for an award. With Esslab who have been recognised at Export Champions by the Department of International Trade it further demonstrates the calibre of businesses we are lucky to have as members.
We profile India as it continues to be an emerging market with great potential - "Save the date" for our one to one clinic with UK India Business Council (UKIBC) on 12th September !
Finally please do keep looking at our Events and Training. We are being reactive to your demands and have a varied programme covering Agents and Distributors, Brexit as a Masterclass, Customs Declarations for Export and Import and Tariff Classification to name a few.
Please contact us if you would like to know more about any of the topics covered.
I do hope you enjoy and find the publication useful.
